Support and develop the next generation of electricians
Do you want to play a key role in helping apprentices build real, hands-on skills in a safe and professional environment? This dual role combines workshop support with practical training delivery, giving you the opportunity to shape how apprentices learn, practise, and apply their trade.
Whether you’re an experienced trainer or a skilled electrician looking to move into education while staying hands-on, this is your opportunity to support apprentices to develop confidence, competence, and the professional standards expected in industry.
At JTL, we’re committed to delivering more than qualifications, we prepare our apprentices for life and work. This is a role where you’ll see the direct impact of your support in the progress, confidence, and achievement of your apprentices, making it both practical and deeply rewarding.
About the role
This is a true dual role, combining responsibility for maintaining a high-quality workshop environment with the delivery of practical training and targeted AM2S preparation.
You’ll play a key part in creating a safe, well-organised, and industry-relevant workshop where apprentices can develop and practise their skills. Alongside this, you’ll deliver focused training and coaching designed specifically to prepare apprentices for their AM2S end-point assessment, helping them build the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to achieve a successful outcome and progress confidently into the workplace.
You’ll:
Create and maintain a safe, well-organised, and fully equipped workshop environment that supports high-quality practical learning.
Prepare materials, equipment, and training bays to ensure sessions run effectively and reflect real industry practice.
Deliver engaging AM2S preparation sessions and practical training focused on building the skills and confidence required for successful end-point assessment.
Provide targeted one-to-one and group coaching to support apprentices in closing skills gaps and improving performance ahead of their AM2S EPA.
Use assessment and observation to check understanding, identify gaps, and support apprentices to improve and progress towards assessment readiness.
Provide clear, constructive, and developmental feedback to help apprentices refine their skills and achieve their best possible outcomes in their EPA.
Promote high standards of behaviour, professionalism, attendance, and punctuality within the workshop environment.
Embed employability skills, British values, equality and diversity, safeguarding, and health and safety into all aspects of training and workshop practice.
Take proactive responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of apprentices, ensuring their health and safety at all times while on site.
Maintain workshop resources, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
Work collaboratively with tutors, training officers, and centre staff to provide joined-up support for apprentices.
Maintain accurate records relating to training activity, equipment, and workshop compliance requirements.
Keep your own technical knowledge and practical skills up to date through CPD and engagement with industry developments.
What we’re looking for:

A relevant qualification relating to knowledge and understanding of the current edition of the BS 7671 IET Requirements for Electrical Installations.
Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (2391 – 2394/5 or equivalent).
Verifiable post-qualification or apprenticeship experience within the electrical services or facilities management sector.
Proven knowledge of AM2S assessment equipment, materials, and accessories, or a willingness to undertake relevant training.
Practical maintenance skills relevant to electrical systems and workshop environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and motivate apprentices.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Commitment to your own ongoing professional development.
Desirable:
Experience delivering training or supporting practical learning.
